About me
I'm Yaz. I walk dogs around Long Melford for a living, and I would not swap it for anything.
Why I started Chasing Tails
I have lived in Long Melford for years, and most of that time has been spent out on the footpaths with a dog or two at my heels. Friends kept asking if I would take their dogs out while they were at work. Then their friends asked. At some point it stopped being a favour and became Chasing Tails.
I do this because I like dogs and I like being outside. That is really it. There is no office, no van full of twelve dogs and no rushing. Just proper walks in the countryside with a small group I know well.
How I walk
I keep groups small, never more than six and usually fewer, so I can actually watch every dog. I learn what makes each one tick. Some want to run until they drop, some want to sniff every hedge, and some just want to walk beside you. All of them are welcome.
Dogs go off lead only when you have said yes and I am confident their recall is solid. Near roads, livestock and anywhere the landowner asks, everyone is on a lead. I carry water, treats, poo bags, a towel and a first aid kit on every walk.
After each walk you get a quick message and a photo, so you always know how your dog got on.
See you on the footpath
The boring but important bits
You are trusting me with your dog and your house keys, so here is what backs that up. Certificates are available to see at the meet and greet.
Fully insured
Public liability insurance plus care, custody and control cover for every dog in my care.
Canine first aid trained
I hold a current canine first aid qualification and carry a first aid kit on every walk.
DBS checked
I hold a current DBS check, so you can be comfortable giving me a key to your home.
Come and say hello
The first meet and greet is free. I pop round, meet you and your dog, and we go through routines, quirks and keys. No obligation.
